Dear Customer,

I am pleased to report that we have reopened the Omaha Subdivision, one of two remaining subdivisions out of service from this year's flooding. Over the past month, since the reopening of this subdivision and the vital St. Joseph Subdivision, train velocity has improved throughout our network by almost 8% through our restoration efforts and focus on service improvement.

Our Napier Subdivision between Napier, Missouri and Pacific Jct., Iowa remains out of service. We expect to reopen this subdivision in mid-October. We continue to reroute some traffic around the affected area. However, almost 90% of all traffic that moves through this area is operating on normal routes.

This will be my final letter concerning flooding unless conditions change significantly. We will continue to focus on your service as we enter the traditional Fall Peak Shipping Season. Last week we moved over 200,000 carloads for the first time in three years. We hope it is a positive sign for the economy.

We sincerely appreciate your support and your business. If you have any questions, please contact your Marketing representative.
